Is Summer Really Over?

Wow! What an awesome summer it's been. We've done so many fun things with our family (www.johnherringfamily.blogspot.com) that I hate to see it end. On the other hand, I haven't gotten crap done all summer so I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine again and getting re-focused on Xango. I know that many of you can relate because we've talked about it so let's get a movin' and a shakin'.

If you haven't been keeping up with the Olympics you better start now because you've missed out on the most unbelievable events occurring EVER! I've decided that if you put me in front of a sporting event I just can't seem to turn it off. Since the Olympics haven't been getting over until we hours of the morning sleep really hasn't been an option. I want to use Michael Phelps as my analogy for this blog. (If you don't know who he is bang your head against a wall and then go Google him). We were lucky enough to watch each one of his events sitting on the end of our couch cheering him on and high fiveing each other after each win. UNBELIEVABLE!

How cool is it to be cheering for someone half way around the world that you don't even know. I was thinking about that today wondering why is it so inspiring to watch someone like Michael Phelps? I believe (Kami's opinion only) that it's because we all have an inner desire to make our dreams come true. As we hear the commentators tell us about the struggles of the athletes and what they did to be at the Olympics you see why ANYTHING that you want bad enough is worth putting the time, sweat, energy, and work into. There's nothing more that I enjoy about the Olympics than the reaction and expression of the winner of the GOLD. Don't you just want to have that feeling after working really hard and accomplishing something great?

I know that the Olympics has helped me to reflect on where I was a year ago, where I am today and where I want to be a year from now. I know that the goals I have for myself, our family, and our business are only going to happen if I put in the time, sweat, energy, and work. I also know that you can't do anything by yourself. My favorite moment was when the USA men's swim team beat France. Jason Lezak was coming up from behind and gave it everything he had to win. (it was even sweeter since the French were trash talking) I loved how Michael after getting his 8 gold medals commented that he couldn't have gotten them all without his teammates.

We're so fortunate in our business to have people that care and really want us to succeed. Our only challenge I believe is accepting that help and allowing that team work to make things happen. I've been in networking for 11 1/2 years now and I know without a shadow of a doubt that if you try to do this business by yourself YOU WILL FAIL!

I encourage you to stop and reflect on where you were a year ago, where you are today, and where you want to be and then set goals and make a plan to make it happen. Michael Phelps is a true example of having a dream, setting goals and doing everything it takes everyday to make it happen. We can do that to!
Let's get the GOLD as a team!
