What are you focused on???

Hello Freedom Seekers,

Today's topic is WHAT ARE YOU FOCUSED ON? Of course I got my analogy from running. Go figure!

About a week ago I challenged myself to run further than I had been. I clocked what I was running and it was only 2 1/2 miles, (are you kidding me???) so I decided that I needed to kick it into high gear. I found a new block to ad to my jaunt and the total is now 4 1/2 miles (something I can live with). The first day, things were going awesome, I was so pumped. I had the ipod headed for my new destination. Once I hit the farms and fields, MMMmm... the sweet smell of horses, cow manure and skunk (reminds me of home) I was feeling peachy until I looked down the road at the first stretch of my block. It was a torturous view. Keep in mind my block is huge and the long legs of it are about 1 3/4 mile long and the road is straight and you can see all the way to the end. UGH! (it's much easier when you can't see the end) It was so hard looking at the end and feeling like it was taking forever to get there. BUT I was determined and focused.

As I ran I found myself looking down a lot, it was easier to look down and not at my destination (and if you know me it's best I watch my feet so I don't crash and fall ha :) ). I thought that by looking down and then looking up the end would be closer. It didn't really help. Well, today I decided that I needed a different mind set if I was indeed going to make this a ritual. I again started out with my ipod headed for the "country" and there the 1st stretch was, still a long long long ways away. I got to thinking that I knew where I was going and the destination wasn't going to change sooooo I just as well enjoy the journey. Rather than looking down I looked up, I looked around. It was a gorgeous day, over cast and it had rained the night before so everything smelled soooooo good, everything was blossoming, the hay fields were a vibrant green color, the mountains had snow on the peaks and the green grass was showing half way down, it was incredibly beautiful. WOW! I thought, "I've been missing out by dreading the journey and looking down". That will NEVER happen again.

The lesson to be learned is WHAT you might ask??? I'm getting there. This last weekend we had an awesome corporate city meeting and distributor training in S.L.C. We had phenomenal afternoon speakers like Kina'u Tollefsen, Jenny Thompson, John Herring, Gordon Morton Sr. and David Butler. (Talk about a knock out of the park cast). Many incredible things were said but one stuck out and that was David Butler talking about the importance of FOCUS! Well, as I was having my ah-ha moment running it made me think that our business's are similar to my run. We all know what we want from it but the end goal seems so far away because there are always obstacles. I believe that God gives us obstacles to teach us lessons, to help us become better and to develop our character. I used to pray for things to go away and learned THAT was never going to happen. How was I possibly going to learn and grow if challenges didn't exsist? Now I pray that I can be better in order to overcome obstacles. (It's a hard mindset to adjust to). Being focused on what we want is sooooo important and I also believe that we HAVE to enjoy the journey as well. What good is the end if we are miserable the whole way?

You've all heard that what you focus on in your life expands and I'm 100% a believer in that concept. If you know why your in Xango and what you want out of it then it's simple right? You just need to focus on it everyday right? That's part of it. The focus has to be there but you also need to make sure that you don't get like I did in seeing the end soooooo far away that I lost my focus by looking down. You have to set goals and know what you want in the end but you also need to look around you, learn from your experiences, learn from others, attend events, and hang out with successful people. Get focused in your business. If you haven't noticed not much changes in your life unless you change what you are doing and focusing on. Think about it, what is different in your life now than it was a year ago???? I hope a lot for the better but you will find that if you ask the majority they will say nothing has changed. How sad, especially when we have the ability to change everything if we get focused and just do it. Get focused people and lets enjoy the journey!

Events vs. Spiritual Experiences

Hello Team Freedom Seekers,

You do realize that I'm going to promote events until the day I die right? I hope none of you are freaking out about my topic today. I'm going to tread lightly and hope that I get my point across without offending anyone. Regardless of what you believe in spiritually you should be able to understand where I'm going with this.

Let me start by telling you where the inspiration for this blog came from. My oldest child Logan is 13. He's an incredible kid that probably keeps me more on track than I keep him. Sunday night he had a church meeting to attend that was specifically for the youth in our area. The subject for the night was how to grow personally in your life, how to find balance in your life and how to make the best of life each day. One of the keys to accomplishing these things is to have good friends, to surround yourself by others that have the same values as you. It was awesome! Every parent that was there was soooooo glad their child was sitting next to them. It's not like we don't already teach our children these lessons but they got to hear it from someone else. The speaker was incredible, not only did he have us all laughing one minute but he had you crying the next. It was truly a spiritual experience for everyone that attended. You couldn't help knowing that what you were hearing was true and that you needed to apply it in your life and that you were at the right place at the right time. Lot's of Logan's friends didn't attend and on the way home we talked about how good it would have been if everyone of them could have experienced what we did.

How am I going to segue into Xango your asking? Well, if you haven't already figured it out then you obviously have never been to a Xango event. Friends, you need to get yourselves to the events. Why do you think people that are trying to lose weight or to quit drinking, smoking ect.......join groups? Why do you think wealthy people join country clubs and live in gated communities? They all have the same goal in mind and that's to surround themselves with people that want and believe in what they are trying to accomplish. So I ask you, why aren't you attending every event that comes your way. As a coach, a busy mom of 4 kids...........I can't make it to every event either BUT I get to as many as I can. I sit there listening to the presenter so grateful that I took the time out to be there. I'm so grateful that what I'm hearing I know is true and that I'm at the right place at the right time and that I'm surrounded by like minded people. When I leave I think of everyone that should of been there with me.

I need the events. I need to be reminded after a bummer day what I'm striving for. I need to be around positive people because there aren't very many of us out there. I need fresh new ideas that get me excited. You need all of these things to.

The balls now in your court. You have two choices to make, and yes it's that simple. You can either get your fanny out of your world of doom and get to the next event or you can do the same things you do every day. Only one of the choices will change the outcome of your future. I love the simplicity of this.

Have I been bold enough here? I'm bold because I care. I want you to have success. I want you to know what I know about Xango and you only get that knowledge and belief from attending events, so let's team up and make this happen. We all have great things inside us waiting to leap out to make incredible things happen in our lives and in everyone we come across. Let's do it together!

Leaders are made at events

Hello Freedom Seekers,

My mind has not stopped since Long Beach. I can't sleep, my house is a mess because I'm what I'm calling "in the zone". (good excuse ey? Have you gathered I prefer doing anything else except laundry and cleaning?) "Note to self: Hire a maid!" ; )

I've always been told that the greatest network marketers are the best event promoters. I was also told that leader's evolve at events. I know you've also heard this advise if you have great leaders you learn from. You've probably heard that you should never miss an event because the next event "might be your event". I have to be perfectly honest that I would respond to this great wisdom with "yadeeyadeeya" (Did you just hear what a Premier said? Blasphemy! LOL Just being real here) Well, now I have to take back all my yadeeya's because I now understand (it takes me a little longer than other's to catch on). I'm so excited, Long Beach was my event!!! I have to tell you that I didn't even decide to go until 2 weeks before the event and then I booked it begrudingly. I had lots of reasons why I "shouldn't, can't, won't" go. The final decision was really made because I needed a break from everything, it wasn't even Xango related. I wish that I could tell you what magically happened for me there but I can't pinpoint just one thing. All I can say is it was my event. woohoo!

You obviously know where this is going. I hear those of you already "yadeeyadeeing" me. :( Whatever your excuses are for not being at the next event, they aren't good enough. If you truly want life changing experiences to take place in your life you have to leave the familiarity of where you are. (If you haven't read the "Dream Giver" order it today). You have to leave your comfort zone and you have to take risks. Orlando is coming up in May and the National in S.L.C. is in November. I wasn't planning on going to Long Beach let alone Orlando but one of the first things I did when I got home was booked everything for Orlando. We all need to be surrounded by great things, great people, great feelings, great ideas. Events have all of these components. How will you know which event is "your event" if you don't invest in yourself and go to any of them?

I'm not going to ramble on, I think you get my point. I just want you to take a serious look at where you are and honestly ask yourself if that's where you like being and if it isn't the great saying applies "if you want change in your life, you have to change" Let's ride this wave together, GET YOURSELF TO THE NEXT EVENT!!!

The Xango Wave in Long Beach

Hello Team Freedom Seekers,

I've returned safely from Long Beach, (what do you mean you didn't know I was gone :) ) I was unable to go to sleep last night and then I hit the floor running this morning. I've been trying to figure out what to tell you about the regional convention. It's probably like trying to describe Mount Rushmore or the Grand Canyon after you've been there. It just can't be done. You have to see it to believe it.

First let me start by pointing out that as a mediocre travel agent I booked us into the most extravagant, most lush, most elegant, two blocks from the beach hotel available in Long Beach (it truly was a dump and we laughed about it all weekend). Note to self...always book your hotel at the venue of the event. I do have to admit that you just can't beat the memories of staying at a place like we did. WooHoo!

After Kellie Thompson 20K and I went to the beach, ate on the boardwalk, toured the cinemark, went to Cold Stone Creamery, checked in at registration and made sure to give all of the Xango employees a hard time we went to the 20K and above event. It was awesome. We had Jaime Topham and Kilee Butterfield join us for the dinner on the Queen Mary and that venue in itself is undescribable. What an incredible ship. We heard phenomenal speakers, had a delicious meal, visited with old and new friends and Xango gave us our very own mangosteen wave board as we left the ship. "Cool"

The next morning bright and early we headed to the Regional Event. We heard great wisdom from Gary Hollister, heard Joe Morton talk about not letting the spaces between reality and your dreams stop you from making your dreams your reality. Talk about inspiring. Talk about a kick in the head for me personally. It was excellant.

Throughout the day we heard heart felt stories from successful leaders and left feeling fulfilled and wishing that everyone of you were there sitting with us. Did I mention that they talked about Glimpse and that it will be launched at the Orlando Regional and that it will be available at the National Convention in Salt Lake in November???? WOW!!!! It can't get here fast enough. Ssssweeeet!!!!!

With that in mind get yourselves and your teams to these events. Start saving your money now. Events are where things happen, events are a reminder of why we are in this business, events are where you learn, where you understand just a little bit of the magnitude this company has and the wave that is headed our way. 500K Linda McCarthy says it best, "You can either watch the wave come in or you can get on your wave board and swim out and ride it".

Events are where you get rejuvinated by what brought you in at the beginning. The best advice that I can give you is if you want the fire re-lit in your business get to the events and take everyone with you.

I heard a lot and felt a lot over the weekend but what I came away with the most is that your downline is going to do what you DO not what you SAY!!!!!!! WOW! I needed to be reminded of that. It's so easy to tell everyone what to do and then sit back hoping they'll do it and that you will get paid for it but I'm here to tell you that IT DOESN'T WORK that way. I'm here to tell you that if you want your business to grow you need to share Xango with someone, anyone EVERYDAY!!! Commitment and consistency are the key elements behind building a strong stable business and anyone can do it.

Spring is in the air!

Hello Team Freedom Seekers,

First I want to say THANK YOU for all your prayers and all the emails for my beautiful niece. I'm excited to announce that they've sent her home sooner than anyone expected. She's weak but on the road to recovery and we're so happy, it truly has been a miracle.

Spring is in the air here in Utah, most days. The weather keeps teasing us. My kids are confused that one week they need a jacket and the next week they need their winter coat and gloves. I sat at Logan's first baseball scrimmage last Saturday and froze my.......off. It was soooooo cold. What in the heck are we doing starting baseball so soon anyway????

Jack just turned 1, it's amazing how time flies. It's so fun to watch this little boy in action. Sitting still is not something Jack understands. He always has to be doing something and going somewhere. He isn't a cuddler and the occasional hug and kiss you get from him are to be savored since you don't know when the next one will come. As I sit and watch him I'm amazed at his ability to never give up on something. Let me explain.

I find that when Jack wants something his little mind starts working hard on "what do I have to do to get that (reach my goal)?" As I watch the obstacles in his way whether it be he can't reach something, he can't crawl over something, he can't get under there......he figures away to go around or get over and under no matter what. His favorite is stacking the pillows and using them for a stepping stool . (keep in mind he just turned 1) My favorite is watching him watch the older kids do something like open a door, a cubbard, or close and shut the blinds. He watches and then does. (he scares me :) ) Anyway, I was thinking how this applies to all of us.

Think about how many obstacles come our way to prevent us from accomplishing our goals. Unfortunately, most of the time excuses and fear are our reason for not overcoming them. Maybe the goal is too hard, maybe someone or something is in our way. Is our goal unrealistic? Maybe we only look for the negative (that's easy to do) Are we watching what others are doing and following their lead in order to help us accomplish our desires?

Let me get back to Jack. I believe that he hasn't yet been programmed to see obstacles as a problem so he continues to find ways to get what he wants. Sure, he gets frustrated at times but he doesn't give up. The best part is that after he has tried every way possible he screams until someone helps him. WOW! Some may see asking for help as giving up....hmmmm I don't see asking for help as giving up. Asking for help is a way of finding and learning how to get through our obstacles. I'm afraid that their are too many of us that aren't asking for help because we don't want to look weak, or we're afraid, or we don't know who to ask.

Believe me when I say that the greatest leaders in this industry aren't doing it alone. They aren't afraid to call their upline and share their struggles and frustrations and to ask for help. They learn from bouncing experiences and ideas off of each other. This business in my opinion is a continual roller coaster that you need to share the ride with. Find someone in your upline that you respect, that you feel comfortable talking to, that is sincere in wanting to help you and plug into them, let them become your mentor. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Your success is their success. Do it now, it's time!

It's a New Year!

It’s a New Year Team Freedom Seekers,

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve sent out a new tidbit so forgive me a head of time if this is long.

I’ve been out of the team loop with being sick for 9 months and then having a new baby. No more excuses for me but I have to be honest in saying that it has also been difficult getting back into the swing of things. I’m sure that some of you can relate. Maybe you have had to take time away from Xango, maybe you have chosen to take time away from Xango or maybe you have never really committed to Xango in the first place. I’m here to tell you that regardless of your circumstance I can relate to how hard it is getting back into focus. I’m also excited to tell you that it can be done, you just need a plan.

Six months after Jack was born I decided that I had used the excuse of “I just had a baby, that’s why I have weight to lose” was no longer excusable. So, I decided to get back to my exercise routine of running everyday. My goal was to be able to run my 3 ½ to 4 miles a day. It was not easy starting over. My body craved the endorphins but my lungs and muscles screamed at me. I was determined to do it no matter the costs. I broke down my run in blocks so that I could make it mentally. Every time I wanted to stop and go home I used positive affirmations to myself like “you big baby, your grandma can run farther than this” “you are such a loser, get your butt in gear.” OK, so maybe they weren’t positive but I’m very competitive and I like a challenge so these affirmations worked for me. (Weird psychology, I know)

Each day as I put on my running shoes and pushed play on my ipod it got easier and easier. I was running further and further. Although I didn’t see physical results right away I felt awesome after my run. I looked forward to my run each day. Eventually the weight started coming off and I started getting excited about getting back into shape.

I’m sharing this analogy with you because it has been the same transition for me in getting active in Xango again. I first had to make a decision that it was time. Second, I decided that I needed a plan. What were my daily business activities going to be? I didn’t start out overwhelming myself with unrealistic expectations. I also new that just because I was ready to go that didn’t mean I was going to have immediate results with everyone I spoke to.

I think there are a lot of people out there trying to figure out what they want and how to do it. My first recommendation is it doesn’t matter what you do to get started again just do something. Get to a meeting, listen to a conference call, watch a webinar, call your upline, make a new list of people you want to share Xango with. Who do you know that needs another stream of income in their life? Who is sick? Who can you help? It feels so good to help people so get rejuvenated in that goal alone. The Goal of Helping People!

I always look forward to the New Year as it comes because for me the new year symbolizes a look at the past and a new focus on how to make improvements in my life. It’s a time for evaluation and change. I think it’s easy to look at what you don’t like in your life or yourself but the challenge is taking action to change those things you want to improve.

Our Family Motto for 2008 is “Solutions Only!” We’re teaching our four awesome kids that complaints can often be valid but they don’t fix problems so why focus on what you can’t control. Focus on Solutions Only. The kids are really excited about this new concept. It’s hard to get out of the habit of complaining when there is something that you don’t like. When the kids start to complain and we say “Solutions Only” they give us the look of death but they quickly change their way of thinking. It’ll be interesting to see how this new motto affects our life this year.

How often do you hear someone complain about their job, their finances, their relationships, their future???? Solutions Only!!!! The great thing is Xango can fix the majority of the complaints out there. How awesome is it that you already have the answers.

John and I encourage you to make a plan. Use the presentation chart to keep track of how many people you are talking to a day. You would be amazed at what you can accomplish. How many people are you going to talk to a day? Use David Butler’s 10 bean approach. There are solutions for you and your business the question is, are you ready to contact your upline, make a plan, make a commitment and get your running shoes on and plug your ipod in and head for the first block? Only you can make that move.

Xango Convention 2007 Recap

Hello Team Freedom Seekers,

It's been 2 days since the most unbelievable convention ever. I've been trying to figure out what I want to tell everyone about the weekend and once again it's one of those events that I define as "undescribable". You have to have been there to understand the impact it had on 10,000 plus people attending.

It was amazing how many people came up and said, "I can't believe how different this years conference is compared to last year." You can never imagine that it's going to get better and better and better. I guess that's how many of us feel about Xango at times. "Can it possibly get any better than it is?" How can Xango do more than it has already done?" Well, I'm here to tell you that Xango gets better and better all of the time. I'm here to tell you that there is not a company out there that exsists regardless of who their founders are or what their product is that can touch what Xango is doing and will continue to do in the future! I'm here to tell you that more than ever you need to re-evaluate your commitment, your goals, and the direction you want your Xango business to go. Don't miss this! Don't get left behind!

Have you heard about www.xangotv.com? We already have distributors brain storming on what they can do as a team for a cool video to submit into the contest. I encourage all of you to get your teams together and do something fun, record it and sumbit it in to the contest. What a great way to bring people together.

Did you hear that something new is coming in 2008? On www.xangotv.com they have a video clip of what is coming. I'm not sure what it is but it shows a lot of pictures of skin and mangosteen and more beautiful skin and mangosteen and more skin and mangosteen. I don't know about you but I was thinking skin? Mangosteen? What could it be? Exciting!!!!!

As I was sitting there soaking up all of the days events I was thinking , if everyone knew what we know about Xango, what we know about the product, what we know about the opportunity and what we know about the founders they would say "Where do I sign?" It's funny how life changes, how your priorities change, your focus changes and how timing is everything in this industry. I've always had a belief in Xango but nothing like I do today. You could say this convention was "My" convention. I needed this convention and I know that I'm not alone when I say that. I know that there are thousands of people that left Salt Lake City with that same passion, belief, and desire to do more in their business. I would be foolish to think that everyone left feeling that way. I saw people sitting there with their arms folded not being open to what the universe was trying to give them. There were people that left saying "that was ok". There were people that I'm sure didn't return the next day. That's ok. That's ok for where they want to be right now. That's where they are suppose to be right now so respect that and love them for where they are, just don't let it stop you from where you want to be and are going.

I learned so many things this weekend but I have to say that my favorite quote was by Priscilla Harrison 200K, "Walk with the walkers, Run with the runners, Stop with the stoppers." It can't get any simpler than that. You go at your speed, help your people at whatever speed they are at and let no one hold you back.

John and I came home pumped up about our future, about your future, about Xango's future and we are so blessed to be where we are right here, right now. I'm sure many of you have heard of or have been getting those phone calls lately about other start up companies out there and maybe they are even trying to recruit you into their business. It's funny but we had someone call and try to recruit us just 2 days before convention. Ironic don't you think? Again, I will say what I did at the beginning of this email. There is not a company out there that can touch what Xango is doing and what they will do. It feels pretty dang good going to bed each night not having a doubt in the world in what we are doing and who we are doing it with. Stand firm in your resolve, stand firm in accomplishing your goals, stand firm in your belief of a better future for you and your family. You deserve it!
